VISIT DC

The National Coalition for LGBT Health invites you to join your colleagues from around the country at the Spring Meeting in Washington, DC from Sunday, March 14 to Tuesday, March 16, 2004. A special Congressional briefing will be held on the status and challenges of the LGBT health movement, addressing the health implications of the Constitutional Amendment banning same-sex marriages and domestic partnerships, strategically approaching Members of Congress, and creating our health agenda as we enter 2004 and 2005.

In addition we will, be finding new allies, following up with allies (original signatories of the Waxman/Ros Lehtinen letter to Secretary Thompson) in the current Congress, and outreaching to the leadership at various agencies of Health and Human Services.

The coalition is committed to improving the health and well being of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals and communities through public education, coalition building and advocacy that focuses on research, policy, education and training. The focus of this meeting will be advancing the Coalition's common interest, as stated in Healthy People 2010, at the White House, Department of Health and Human Service, Congress and other entities. Your attendance will ensure that we move forward with a strong unified voice for LGBT health.
